June News 2023
June 21, 2023
Hope you all enjoyed Father's Day and you made Dad work ten percent less than usual. After all, dads need a break now and then, too.
In my May newsletter, I shared news about my new website and what's been happening with Leroy Cutter since the release of The Sinful. Well, I had hoped to give everyone a sneak peek of the cover for the second book in the series, which we're calling The Sinful II, right now. Yes, there is an actual title, but I'm saving it for the big cover reveal. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen today. If it was left up to me, I would draw stick figures and the title. But despite what you may have heard, people do judge a book by its cover. So, I have to employ a professional designer, which costs money. My thanks to all the judgmental readers out there. Oh, well. That being said, though, you may receive two newsletters in June. It all depends on the cover designer.
As for The Sinful, the audiobook version is wrapping up as we speak… type… read. I haven't listened to it, yet, but I'm on pins and needles just like all of you. Okay, maybe I'm the only one on pins and needles, but a man can dream.
For July, Smashwords is running a summer reading special on The Sinful, 25% off the ebook. Not a bad deal, if you ask me. Even if you didn't ask me. So, if you haven't taken the plunge into The Sinful, July is your moment. You won't find it cheaper anywhere. Click this link (Smashwords The Sinful) to download in July.
Readers are still enjoying The Sinful. Why not? It's a great book, but I'm biased. I hear from many of you every week, and I enjoy each stroke of my ego. Your kind words and questions about Leroy, Detroit, and even general writing put a fire in my belly. My wife says that fire is the result of too many tacos, but I disagree. There is no such thing as too many tacos. If you think someone would enjoy The Sinful, tell them about it. Or, better yet, buy a copy for them. Put a smile on that friend's face with the gift of a book. Also, take the time to write a review! Authors love reviews of their books, but only if they're good. As I've said in the past, if you didn't enjoy The Sinful, then keep your filthy mouth shut.
And let's not forget about my earlier books, There is a Season and The Final Round. Readers seem to enjoy them, and as I recall, I enjoyed writing them, too. Both books are available on Amazon only.
Anyway, here it is June already. The summer is just zipping by! Actually, it's starting today, June 21, the summer solstice. Today is the longest day of the year, though it has the same amount of hours as the shortest day in December, the winter solstice. But we're talking daylight, folks. Of course, in the Southern Hemisphere, this is reversed. Enjoy your winter, southies!
The writer's strike in Hollywood is still going on, which gives me time to catch up on some programs. Though I haven't had much time as I'm writing the third Leroy Cutter book. I hope to have it ready for you by mid-2024.
The next time you hear from me, I'll have a cover to reveal for The Sinful II. Have a great summer, and read more books. Especially books that are written by GW Allison.
Sincerely,
GW
PS - If you enjoyed this newsletter pass it along to your friends. If you did not, then my apologies.
